Turtle dude – Kappa, Eye butt – Shirime, Ghost umbrella – Kasa Obake, Ghost sandals – Bakezori, Ghost lantern – Chōchin’obake
Here we have an array of different Yōkai, Japanese folk spirits.
Toby sculpted them for a few reasons, firstly he said “Japanese folk culture is a cool source of inspiration. And secondly I thought it’d be a good way to practice sculpting different things and interpret folk lore in a unique way”
I’m really looking forward to scanning these guys! Will post updates as the job progresses.
